Thanks, Christian. It doesn’t normally take me four years to reply to messages. The blog had been largely forgotten (reviving it now) and I never received prompts about incoming messages. Sorry!
Thanks, Jez. Sorry I’ve neglected the blog for so many years. Catching up now!
The page about plaques hasn’t been updated since a more comprehensive list was published in Cinema-by-Sea (brightonfilm.com/cinema-by-sea) last year. There are actually THREE Max Miller plaques in the Brighton area–in Burlington Street, Marine Parade and Kingston Lane, Shoreham/Southwick. As far as I know, the Bing Crosby plaque, marking his last ever concert, is still in the foyer of the Brighton Centre.
Re your Directory of cinemas in Brighton & Hove
Embassy Cinema (1948-1981) 1 Western Road, Hove
You mention that it had a Walturdaw sound system.
I am researching Edward George Turner and the Walturdaw Company Limited (film distributors/suppliers) in my area (Walthamstow) and would be grateful for any information on this item.

Hi, I am trying to track down the David Fisher who is distantly related to William Friese-Greene. I have been told by a prevous owner that I now live in a property in which he once lived and worked. I would be very interested to find out some more about him and to try and establish whether or not this is indeed correct. Kind regards Kate
Great site. I have added your blog to my site: classicfilmshow.com.
Please also forward me your email address.
Thanks,
Christian.

Hi David,
A couple of additional plaques that I have noted in Brighton are:
* A second Max Miller plaque at 160 Marine Parade http://openplaques.org/plaques/1068
* Rumours of a Bing Crosby plaque inside The Brighton Centre http://openplaques.org/plaques/1255
Regards,
Jez

Didn’t I reply to an email about this at the time? If there is a David Fisher related to WFG, it ain’t me!
